Stutter is a web-based chat system that has it's roots in a program. Stutter is written in the PHP language, which is fairly cross-platform, and avaialable for many different web servers. The code is available for free, without any usage restrictions. The current version does require a database to enable the backend chat services. It's being released as open-source so that, perhaps, a better backend solution can be implemented. Provides features like Public chat supporting a number of different chat rooms, Private messages between users, Image-based user status detection, Customizable, multi-lingual strings, Enhanced interface for JavaScript enabled browsers.
